Meaning of the piece

Title: “The Star of Vision and the Sacred Path”

This Huichol yarn painting, crafted in a harmony of blue tones, evokes depth, spirituality, and a connection with the infinite. At the center, a star surrounded by hunter's arrows stands out, symbolizing direction, purpose, and spiritual quest within the Wixárika tradition.

Around this core, a circle of peyotes forms, representing sacred knowledge and the expansion of consciousness. The jicaras (gourds) with offerings reinforce a sense of gratitude and respect towards the forces that sustain life, integrating naturally into the composition.

The presence of a shamaness and two shamanic healers provides balance and guidance, acting as intermediaries between the visible and invisible worlds. Around them, eagles—including the majestic golden eagle—elevate the narrative towards the celestial, while deer, as spiritual messengers, traverse the artwork connecting each element.
